Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a safe and effective way to improve your smile and one of our most popular treatments offering you an instant lift to your smile.

How It Works

Before starting tooth whitening your teeth will be assessed to ensure that the treatment will be safe and effective for you. For example, crowns and veneers will not change colour so they may need to be replaced after tooth whitening.

Impressions will be taken of your teeth so that custom made trays can be made. Once the trays are ready the dentist will ensure they fit accurately and will show you how to use the whitening gel. Most patients find that using the trays for one hour a day for a couple of weeks results in a significantly brighter, whiter smile.

Professional tooth whitening can last for many years although top-ups are available when necessary. Avoiding food and drinks that cause staining will prolong the whitening effect. Foods to avoid include tea, coffee, and red wine.  Smoking also causes staining.
